How to set up and use Samsung Pay

Samsung Pay is secure, convenient and makes paying faster than ever. Using your Samsung Galaxy phone you can make secure purchases in stores, through apps and online.

Setting up Samsung Pay

1. Open Samsung Pay app and tap the plus (+) sign in the top right corner and follow the steps to add your debit card

2: Choose your desired verification method: text (SMS), email or telephone. If you choose text or email a verification code will be sent to the number or email listed. To activate via phone, please call (866) 889-8880 ext. 4.

3. You’re set to start using Samsung Pay

 

Paying with Samsung Pay

1. From the lock screen, swipe up from the home button or open the Samsung Pay app

2. Select your Copperfin debit card

3. Authenticate your card with either a PIN, Iris scan or fingerprint

4. Hold your device over the payment terminal. You will feel a vibration or hear a beep to confirm your payment. The screen will show a checkmark with a ‘Payment Completed” message.

5. If notifications are turned on in settings, you will receive a notification of the payment

If you have a debit card and an eligible Samsung device, then you can get Samsung Pay. Samsung Pay is available to consumers and small businesses.

​Samsung Pay is available on the latest Samsung devices, starting as early as: Galaxy S6, Note5, A5, Gear Sport, Gear S3 Frontier/Classic and Galaxy Watch.

​Samsung devices that have been jailbroken (removing or modifying the devices restrictions. i.e. allowing the installation of unauthorized software) or otherwise tampered with are not eligible for use with Samsung Pay. The device’s operating system must also be kept up to date.

​Samsung Pay is currently only available on eligible Samsung devices that are listed above.

​No, Interac® debit on Samsung Pay is not yet supported on Samsung wearable devices.

​Samsung Pay is being launched first with debit cards, allowing you to make everyday purchases directly from your account.

​With Samsung Pay, you authorize your purchases with a PIN, iris scan or fingerprint. These features keep your cards and phone protected and secure from others.

Swipe up on the lock screen and place your finger on the Touch ID, enter your passcode or use Iris scan to unlock your device, select your Copperfin debit card and hold your device near the payment terminal. You will feel a vibration or hear a beep to confirm your payment.

​All transactions will be logged in the transaction history under the card in Samsung Pay. To ensure they are turned on go to Settings > App Notifications > Samsung Pay.

​Samsung does not have the ability to set a default card. The last card used or viewed would be the card defaulted for payment.

​No. You do not need a Flash-enabled debit card to use Samsung Pay.

​You can add up to 10 payment cards to Samsung Pay. There is no limit to the number of gift cards that can be added to Samsung Pay.

​Yes. Deleting your card from Samsung Pay will not deactivate your debit card.

​Purchase transactions are approved based your daily limits.
