The 2024 First Home Savings Bonus Rate of 1.25% plus posted rate (the “Bonus Rate”) at Copperfin Credit Union is open to all eligible members. To be considered, "eligible" members must meet all the following requirements:

• At least 18 years of age,
• Not more than 71 years of age on December 31, 2024,
• A resident of Canada,
• A first-time home buyer.
• An individual counts as a first-time home buyer if they did not live in a qualifying home (or what would be a qualifying home if located in Canada) as your principal place of residence in this calendar year or in the previous 4 calendar years that either you owned or jointly-owned, or your current spouse or common-law partner 6t owned or jointly-owned.

The Bonus Rate will be automatically applied to all previously opened First Home Savings Accounts (FHSA) and newly opened FHSA during the promotional period, which runs from 12:00 AM EST on September 3, 2024, until 11:59 PM EST on December 31, 2024.

The Bonus Rate will be given with the following conditions:

1. The Bonus Rate starting at 12:00 AM EST on September 3, 2024, is 1.25% and is only applicable to deposits made in the eligible FHSA until 11:59 PM EST on December 31, 2024. The posted rate on all First Home Savings products is subject to change without notice, and the most current rate is posted on our rates webpage and can be viewed at  copperfin.ca/rates.
2. At the end of the promotional period, the bonus rate will revert to the posted rate at that time. All interest rates described are annual interest rates. Interest is calculated daily on the closing balance and paid monthly. Interest rates are subject to change at any time without notice.
3. The Bonus Rate will apply to the duration of all FHSA accounts opened within Term Deposits prior to December 31, 2024.
4. The Bonus Rate will be applicable to all FHSA accounts opened within a HISA until December 31, 2024, after which the rate will revert to the posted rate.
5. If an eligible FHSA is closed or switched to a non-FHSA product before interest is paid at the Bonus Rate, any calculated interest for that month will be forfeited.

Other Conditions

1. All contributions must adhere to FHSA contributions limits.
2. The Bonus Rate cannot be combined with any other offers.
3. This Bonus Rate does not extend to staff members.
4. Bonus Rate may be withdrawn or changed without notice, at any time, for any reason.

The Bonus Rate is available until 11:59 PM EST on December 31, 2024.

The 2024 Special First-Time Homebuyer Offer provides a 0.25% discount on eligible mortgage products (the “Offer”) at Copperfin Credit Union and is open to all eligible members. To be considered "eligible", members must not have previously owned a house. The “eligible” mortgage products are as follows:

• 3 Year Special High Ratio Mortgage
• 3 Year Special Conventional Fixed Rate Mortgage
• 5 Year Special High Ratio Mortgage
• 5 Year Special Conventional Fixed Rate Mortgage

The Offer will be given with the following conditions:

1. The mortgage application must be approved between 12:00 AM EST September 3, 2024, and 11:59 PM EST on December 31, 2024. The mortgage can close after December 31, 2024. The rate discount of 0.25% will be applied to the posted mortgage rate on all mortgages approved between the start and end of the promotional period. The rate will apply for the duration of the contract.
